The Greater Sudbury Ball Hockey League was created in October 2009 by a Sudburian who was tired of the waiting lists and unavailable ice for traditional hockey. The goal was to give others who loved the game but could not play, an opportunity to play Canada’s National Winter Sport in a new way. Organized ball hockey is an ever growing sport, being played year round in major cities all across North America. By removing the skates and playing in shoes, it has been able to keep the fast pace feel of hockey, but open the sport to all individuals who may have not been able to participate in ice hockey.
The GSBHL is open to any individual over 16 years of age no matter the skill level. With an affordable registration fee of $50 a person, the GSBHL offers itself to a wider variety of player than traditional organized sports leagues.
If you think the Greater Sudbury Ball Hockey League may be right for you, feel free to register to play some organized hockey from the childhood of millions.
